The Super Eagles of Nigeria ends the Golden dream of the Elephants of
Cote d'ivore beating the Africa Cup of Nations favourites with A
Suprising 2 goals to 1. The Eagles Dominated the first 45 minutes of
the game, missing sevaral chances but later took the Lead over the
Lethargic Ivorians in the 43 minutes with a superb free kick from
Spartak Moscow Striker Emmanuel Emenike, The Elephants came out in the
Second half with a Higher tempo, Hungry and putting much pressure on
the Eagles and Eventually cancelled out Emenike first half goal in
the 50 Minutes with a Free header by Newcastle Mildfielder Cheik
Tiote. The Ivorians Continued to dominate the game but later on, the
eagles cooled off the pressure on them and took over the Elephants and
came cofidently and bravely, took over the possesion.
During the Entertaining Second Half, goning to the 78th Minutes
Nigerians Took the Lead again.
This time around the goal was from a home base player from nigeria
playing for Warri Wolves Sunday Mba driving through the middle of the
Ivorians and drops the shoulder before shooting on goal. The ball
bounces off the back of Sol Bamba and loops over Barry in the Ivory
Coast goal.
After the Elephants Conceded the 2nd Goal the begin to Search for an
equalizer, bringing in Taore for Romaric. Goning to the 85th minutes
of the game the substitued Taore saw a golden oppurtunity but failed
to utilized with a Fantastic challenge from Mikel!! The ball breaks
toTraore inside the area and he looks poised to shoot on goal, but the
Chelsea man comes in to poke the ball away at the final moment.
Goning to the Final Minute the Eagles made their first change bringing
in their captain Joseph Yobo in place of Victor Moses, I think that
time his Experience will be needed in the final moment, the super
eagles ensure that they close all door to their net. the Eagles will
now proceed to the semi Final and will meet Mali on wednesday.
